Staying Home When Sick
As we head into the peak of Flu season with RSV and COVID continuing to circulate in our communities, we want to thank you for your vigilance and emphasize how important it is that families monitor their children for any signs of illness and keep them home if they show any symptoms.
STAYING HOME WHEN SICK (Your help is needed and appreciated)
Symptoms of illness include but are not limited to Cough, Runny or Stuffy Nose, Fatigue, Sore Throat, Body Aches, Headache, Shortness of Breath/Difficulty Breathing, Decreased Sense of Smell and/or Taste, Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, and Chills/Sweats or Fever of 100.4° F (or higher) in the past 24 hours. Any student arriving to school with FLU/COVID-like symptoms (or developing symptoms while at school) will be removed from the classroom and parents will be called to pick them up from school.
RETURNING TO SCHOOL AFTER AN ILLNESS
When following an illness, Saint Mark reserves the right to make the final determination as to the eligibility to return to school and may require a doctor’s note/certificate for a particular illness or condition to ensure that it is no longer communicable. A doctor’s slip is required upon return for absences of 3 or more consecutive school days. Children must be fever-free for at least 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school.
Mahalo nui for your help and support as we work collectively to keep our keiki healthy and safe!
