Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – August 26, 2020

Aloha Saint Mark Parents!

I am sorry to have not reached out sooner, but we were waiting to receive the official written emergency order No. 2020-25 signed/approved by the governor before we made any final decisions, and didn’t receive it until late this afternoon.

K to 5 STUDENTS ON-LINE (PK Students Staying on Campus)
Now that we have the signed order which goes into effect at midnight tonight, Saint Mark Lutheran School will be closing the campus to the K to Grade 5 students  beginning tomorrow, August 27 and transitioning them into a distance learning environment.

ELC STUDENTS (PK3 & PK4) REMAINING ON-CAMPUS
The Early Learning Center will remain open to on-campus student activity for PK3 and PK4 students as it is classified as a childcare facility and operates in accordance with the State of Hawaii’s Department of Human Services’ requirements.

DISTANCE LEARNING
While we do not intend to remain in a distance learning environment any longer than is absolutely necessary, it is important that our parents know that we are fully prepared to deliver the comprehensive academic, social-emotional and community building online framework that we used in the fourth quarter of this past school year (See the Distance Learning Plan).

Again, I apologize for this late notice.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school office should you have any questions.

Thank you for your time and support!

Mahalo, Blessings and Stay Safe,

David Gaudi
Head of School
