Chapel offerings for August totaled $408 and went to Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) World Relief. Mahalo for the generous donations! The offerings collected in September are going to Family Promise of Hawaii. Family Promise of Hawaii is an innovative program to help families with children escape homelessness. Their mission is to mobilize existing community resources to help families experiencing homelessness transition to sustainable independence. They do this by developing, training, and supporting a network of interfaith congregations whom host homeless families on a quarterly basis. Each host site provides a safe place to sleep, good food, and generous hospitality. Guests stay at a host site for a week and then move onto another host site. Saint Mark is such a host site! Saint Mark provides food and shelter for homeless families four weeks a year in March, June, October and December.
