Lunch
Saint Mark students may bring lunch from home or purchase lunch through the school. Saint Mark offers meals from Lanakila Kitchen on Mondays - Thursdays and Pizza Hut on Fridays.
Lanakila Kitchen offers a variety of nutritionally balanced meals that are listed on a monthly menu and posted on the Saint Mark website. Lanakila Kitchen's focus is on providing a healthier option for meals for both children and adults at a reasonable cost. The school lunches follow the USDA guidelines. Each lunch includes an entree, starch, vegetable or salad, fruit, wheat bread, margarine and 1% milk. On sandwich days lunch includes a sandwich, soup, salad, fruit and 1% milk.
Pizza Hut offers a meal that includes a personal pan pizza, carrots and a fruit cup.
A lunch ticket system is used whereby families are able to purchase lunch tickets from the school office and send them to school with their child the day he/she wants to eat the school lunch. The tickets are collected by the teacher during homeroom, the total lunch order given to the vendor, and the lunches delivered that same day. Because the orders must be called in by 9:00am, all students arriving to school after 9:00am will need to bring a home lunch.
The tickets cost $4.00 apiece and may be purchased in strips of five.
