Tani Buckley has won 1st place in the 6th grade division of the 2008 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Poetry Contest, sponsored by the International Peace Poem Project. In the 8th grade division, Randon Serikawa won 1st place and Brice Kanehira 2nd place. The students, their parents, teacher Mrs. Hayes and Principal Mr. Gaudi, are invited to attend a ceremony at the Mission Memorial Auditorium in Honolulu on Wednesday, April 16, where they will be presented with the winning certificates. St. Mark raised over $5000 with the Jump Rope For Heart Jump-a-thon! Sophie Rupert (1st Grade) collected the most money. She and three others will be in a Disneyland drawing. In addition, St. Mark will receive $300 to spend on additional P.E. equipment. [Read entire story]

Junior High had their annual Spelling Bee on Wednesday, January 16th. The winner was Nalei Akau (gr. 7)with Kelli Lyman (gr. 6) coming in second. Nalei will now compete in the District Spelling Bee at Le Jardin on February 12 at 6:30 p.m., Kelli will be the alternate.
